Auction Procedures

What to do first: First you will need to register as a bidder. See "How to register as a Seller/Bidder".

Don't forget that after you register you will get a confirmation email that you MUST open and click the confirm link before you will actually be able to login. It is recommended that you register EARLY to ensure that your registration process is complete before the actual auction begins.

Next: To bid on an item, type your bid amount in the box next to the item description, and click the 'Go' button. Your bid must be above the Minimum Bid amount specified in the box.

You will be asked to confirm your bid. Fill in your username and password and click 'Submit' to complete your bid.

You will receive an email if your bid is no longer the winning bid.

See instructions below if you wish to submit a proxy bid.

If you win the auction you will be contacted by the seller.

Terms and Conditions

Payment will be made in U.S. dollars by check, money order, casher's check or cash, to the consigner of sold lots before delivery of cattle and transfer of registration papers. The transaction is between the buyer and seller. Hereford Breeders Online Auction and iDesign act as an agent only and assume no liability. Any guarantees will be between the consigning breeder and the buyer. Payment and delivery of purchased animals will be between the consigner and buyer.

Our software provides for placing proxy bids. Bidders can place a maximum bid and the software will keep the bid high at the bid increment until the proxy bid is reached. Note*** Maximum bid and proxy bid are the same thing. To place a proxy bid, just enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay. Automatic bids will be placed for you up to your maximum amount. Using proxy bidding, you can win the bid at the lowest possible price. Your maximum bid is only placed when a competing bidder bids the same amount. Please note that if the current high bidder's maximum bid is higher than the bid you place, you are immediately outbid, because your bid is not high enough to beat the earlier maximum bid. Remember; Proxy bidding will confidentially and automatically bid up to your maximum, but in order to avoid being outbid, you must have the highest maximum bid. Proxy bidding bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid.

Item Watch

Item watch notifies you when someone bids on the auctions that you have added to your Item Watch.
